RATOC Firewire Converter
for Legacy SCSI Devices

The RATOC Firewire Converter will allow you to attach your legacy SCSI device to your Firewire Mac. No longer do we need to put up with spotty SCSI support from Apple and expensive SCSI host cards and cables just to attach a scanner, printer or a JAZ drive. These little adapters attach directly to the device and allow you to hook them to your Firewire port. RATOC maintains a list of compatible SCSI devices HERE.

Supported by OS9 and OSX extensions, in most cases that is all you need to do other than make sure you have a device driver for the scanner or other SCSI component. This adapter even supports hot mounting of the device, a great time saver over a pure SCSI bus where you must reboot to mount devices.

In some cases legacy devices may require a unique SCSI bus setting to operate. RATOC has a free downloadable utility for acccomplishing that. A short guide to who will need this utility is HERE. Read the manufacturers specification page.
    Certified Applications:
  • Vuescan 7 or later for Scanners and Film Scanners.
  • Roxio Toast 5 or later for DVD and CD Burner.
  • DANTZ Retrospect 5 or later for backup devices.
  • 50 Pin MicroD Connector
