SATA Storage Solutions
Superb workmanship and performance in a very compact package. CalDigit
has produced a video storage system that looks as good as it performs. These
enclosures ship complete with CalDigit
Host Card and drives, formatted and ready to roll. Attached via
a single port multiplier cable, called a SuperLane connection by CalDigit,
you get a neat desktop with few wires cluttering up your workspace. These
are very compact enclosures for a tight workspace environment measuring only
10.37" x 5.91" x 9.16" for the five bay HD and a tiny 9.76"
x 5.12" x 4.26" for the Duo. These enclosures provide power and
drive activity LED's for keeping tabs on your data storage and come in an
attractive aluminum finish that matches the G5 and MacPro. Specifically designed
for video editing and playback, photo and audio libraries.
The CalDigit Host
Card and software monitor system status with E-mail notification
of fan failure, drive failure or if the temperature exceeds normal limits.
This managament tool offers password protection to prevent unauthorized reading
of your RAID settings. These systems can be configured for RAID0 (for performance),
RAID1 (for redundancy) or JBOD with only a few clicks. When configured for
a RAID1, should a drive fail, the CalDigit system will automatically rebuild
your content in a very short period of time.

The S2VR Series supports SATAII 3Gb/s interfaces capable of reads up
to 230 Mb/s per five bay enclosure or up to 150 Mb/s on the Duo. These enclosures
all use quality Maxtor or Seagate drives with 16 Mb caches. These systems
include everything you'll need: Host Card, External Data Cable, Hard Drives,

The S2VR Duo with its
150 Mb/s reads is a very affordable solution for uncompressed 10 bit SD editing,
photo and MP3 libraries. The S2VR Duo is equipped with 2 SATA 3Gb/s hard drives
and CalDigit's unique technology to support multi-stream uncompressed SD,
DVCPRO, HDV and DV non-linear video editing systems. The S2VR Duo is also
designed to store large photo and MP3 libraries and provide hardware RAID
protection on digital content. Available in 500 Gb, 1-Tb and 1.5-Tb capacities
capable of storing over 10 hours of 10 bit SD footage.

The S2VR HD
five drive system supplies up to 230 Mb/s read speeds allowing video editors
to easily capture or playback 10 bit uncompressed HD footage without waiting
for rendering or spending money on expensive SCSI or Fiber Channel solutions.
SATA 3Gb/s is the most affordable alternative solution for video editors and
studios that do not require sharing the same content in the same storage pool
but need high performance and data integrity. With this enclosure you can
store over 7 hours of 10 bit HD 1080/60i footage or well over 20 hours of
10 bit SD. Available in 1.6-Tb, 2.5-Tb, and 3.75-Tb capacities.

The S2VR system is configurable for use with any recent
Mac tower including the latest MacPro. This
system is also compatible with PC's which have PCI,
PCI-X
or PCIe
expansion slots. Since the Host Card is included in the package you must order
the correct system to fit your computer. If you're wondering which host card

NOTE: The S2VR enclosures are slightly louder than the Burly enclosures
due to the smaller internal space for airflow. Each S2VR enclosure incorporates
a high air-flow cooling system that uses a ball bearing 50 mm case fan. They
have a user replaceable modular power supply and cooling fan that can be swapped
out in just seconds reducing downtime on time-critical projects. The Hard
Drives are also removeable without tools and are warranted through CalDigit
in their drive trays as a unit. The drives must not be removed from the trays
or the drive warranty will be void. When using the CalDigit
Host Card on the MacPro a driver update may
be needed, available
here. Some users experienced kernel panics and freezes
on the MacPro, these are resolved when using the latest driver available from
CalDigit.
These assemblies are thoroughly tested before they ship and
have a Three Year Manufacturer's Warranty.
