Robust - All aluminum construction is tough and capable of withstanding rough usage. Maximize your drive safety by choosing this enclosure with an installed Seagate G-Force Protected Drive - this combination gives the greatest shock protection available. (at the time of this writing only 250 GB and 320 GB G-Protected drives have shipped and 320s have been hit or miss on availability)

Simplicity - Bus Powered so only one cable between your computer and the drive. Plug in the data cable, the drive spins up, mounts and becomes available as your data storage drive, backup drive or even your boot drive. Perfect for taking along on that long photo or video shoot for storing or backing up your work as you go.

Speed - Performance is superb. You will enjoy the full 80 MB/sec transferred over FW800 from the faster of today's current drives. We specifically recommend the 7200 RPM Momentus drives which we find to be the preeminent choice in notebook size drives. For that kind of speed you need to connect to a Firewire 800 port. This enclosure will run fine on Firewire 400 or USB as well, but performance will be reduced when connected through a lesser capable bus than Firewire 800. Use of enclosure on a Firewire 400 port will require a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable. Optional FW400 to FW800 adapter cable is available at the bottom of this page.

Small Size - At 3.34 inch x 5.15 inch x .71 inch, this is about as little as it gets. Even when stored in its carry case it can fit in your pocket. Current SATA drives up to currently available 500GB capacity work perfectly in it, with larger capacities coming out in the future. The new paradigm in carry along storage.
(Note: Seagate has just started shipping the 500 GB Momentus. As we can get them in we will have them available for shipment. While I am not as big a fan of other brand drives in 2.5 inch, if future testing provides reason to change that we will also include them in our drive offerings)
